Erin Sprague's journey began with a personal goal of breaking the world record as the youngest woman to run a marathon on all seven continents. And as good fortune would have it, her voyage did not end there. Combining her two greatest passions—running and philanthropy—Erin utilized her business skills, her Harvard education, her fundraising capabilities and her discipline as a runner to co-found the charitable organization, In The Running.
After plotting her route that began in Tiananmen Square in Beijing and traveled through New York, Sao Paulo, Tanzania, Antarctica, Dublin and Australia, Erin's world record quest enabled her to raise awareness and funds for some of the most pressing humanitarian and environmental issues facing the world today.
As CEO of the organization, Erin has put In The Running on the map by achieving the world record when she crossed the seventh finish line at the age of 24 years, eight months. Erin's future plans include biking across the continent of Africa, and encouraging others, both here and abroad, to set challenging personal goals while contributing to their favorite charities.
