Women Doing Good 2009

Lindsay Guetschow

Lindsay Guetschow Lindsay Guetschow is bringing the urgent issue of global warming to the forefront by educating the public on its effects on their personal health, well- being and the environment. Lindsay joined StopGlobalWarming.org as the Director of Outreach and worked with the organization's founders— environmental activist Laurie David, Senator John McCain and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.—to build a virtual march of more than one million people in an effort to make global warming a national priority. Through her tireless dedication, Lindsay harnessed the power of athletes, actors and musicians, and aligned with responsible corporations, prominent Americans, religious groups and politicians, to encourage people to become global warming activists and join the movement for change.

Cool Globes, Lindsay's latest endeavor, is a public art project consisting of seven-foot tall globes that demonstrate simple solutions to help stop global warming. Touring throughout the United States, Cool Globes was launched in Chicago in 2007 by environmental activist Wendy Abrams, and has made stops in Washington, DC, San Francisco and San Diego. Lindsay recently helped bring the project to Los Angeles with the hope that this exhibit will educate the community, and visitors from around the world, on actions they can take to be a part of the solution.

Cool Globes

Cool Globes is a non-profit organization established to raise awareness of global warming and inspire individuals and community leaders to embrace solutions. It uses a traveling art exhibit, "Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet," to inspire public dialogue and personal action. World renowned and local artists, as well as school children have designed the 60 seven-foot tall globes. This spectacular exhibit not only beautifies the cities it visits, but provides the millions of people who view the gloves with a vast array of solutions to global warming, with one clear message—we can solve this!
